SECOND PRIME MINISTER OF INDIA
• India has a golden history. This history was created by many people due to their devotion and sacrifice India got freedom. LalBahadurShastri was one of them.
• He was a man of great inner strength as well as tolerance.
• 2nd October is the birth anniversary of LalBahadurShastri.
• The man of values, the first railway minister of free India.
• He was the idol of simplicity and he served as the 2nd prime minister of India after the death of Nehru.
• He was the passionate lover of mother India. His birth took place at Mughal Sarai in Uttar Pradesh on October 2nd, 1904.
• he was born to Sharada Prasad and Ramdulari,.he was the second child for them.
• Shastri completed his education under the guidance of his grandfather HazariLal.
• He has pursued his education at Varanasi and got married to Lalitha Devi.
• In his college days, he was impressed by Gandhiji’s speech and became a true follower of Gandhiji and later he became a member of the congress party.
• He jumped into the freedom movement. In 1920 he joined the non-cooperation movement.
• He was one of the participants in the salt Dandi march in 1932.
• He was arrested by the British no. of times and kept in jail.
• In his whole life; he spent 9 years in prison for the sake of his motherland.
• Shastri used to hate the caste system and dowry system. He fought against castism in Indian society.
• He stood against the dowry system as well. He was a man of excellent willpower. He was a very soft-spoken person.
• Shastriji was the rarest combination of simplicity, honesty as well as talent.
• His work was on top.He was the man of vision. Jai Jawan and Jai Kisan inspirational slogans were given by him. Through this slogan, he motivated all farmers and soldiers in India.
• To develop the economy of the country he promoted the white revolution.
• In the 1960 war between India and Pakistan, he showed great courage and took proper and strong decisions.
• He was a real son of mother India. The great diamond of India passed on 11th January 1966by heart attack.
After his death, India awarded him the highest civilian award, Bharat Ratna.
